Hidden from the world and situated just off the north western tip of Chiefs Island, is the secret paradise of Mombo Camp and the new Little Mombo Camp situated only 800 metres from Mombo Camp.

Mombo Camp is situated deep within Moremi, beneath huge trees on the edge of a broad floodplain and the new Mombo Camp is situated on a scenic island deep within the Moremi Game Reserve.

The design of the new Mombo is radically different from the old Mombo while still retaining its tented charm. The Mombo has a total of twelve identical guest rooms divided into two distinct and independent camps Camp Mombo and Little Mombo.

The new rooms situated in Little Mombo have a tented camp feel but are luxuriously appointed. There are private bathrooms with hot and cold running water, and outdoor showers. The main living area is under thatch and canvas. Both camps have their own pools, outdoor dining areas and raised walkways.

Mombo Camp has ten large tented rooms which can accommodate a maximum of twenty guests in simple but comfortable accommodation. Each tent has private toilet and shower facilities as well as solar powered lights. A separate dining area, lounge and pub raised onto teak decking and under thatch overlook the floodplains.

Mombo Camp has nine rooms and the new Little Mombo has three rooms. Each tented room is raised off the ground offering great views over the floodplains and which also allows gaming to wander freely through the camp but at the same time allowing for guest saftey.

The highlight here is the large concentrations of plains game and all the predators. Wildlife occur right in front of the camps. It is not impossible to see up to twelve different mammal species from the comfort of your veranda.

Both Mombo camps provides one of the highest quality wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. Giant umbrella thorns and Ilala palms dot the expansive plains to create a magnificent savanna landscape alongside the marshes and floodplains of the Delta.

Privacy for guests is ensured, as we have exclusive use of this area for Mombo and our trails camp. Apart from the occasional government official or wildlife filmmaker, our staff and other guests are the only other people you will see during your stay.

Drives in open 4x4 vehicles explore the savanna and floodplains where large concentrations of wildlife and birds abound. Foot trails may be undertaken if you're after the closest possible contact with nature.

Experienced guides will accompany you, ensuring that early morning and late afternoon excursions are interesting and educational.

Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and all the major predators are common in this region. A large pack of wild dogs frequent the area around the camp and have been successful in raising large litres in recent years. The excellent game at Mombo has made this area Botswana's top wildlife documentary location.
